Inaugural ecoNOMical post
With a week of this under my belt, I’m starting to feel fancy… like adding-a-photo-to-a-post fancy.
Woohoo! Nailed it. So work has consumed far more than 8 hours per day this week, and my meal prep is lacking as a result. Tonight I’m having a Home Happy Hour for less than the cost of a single drink at even a dive bar (except maybe PBR at a hipster joint… but I’m exempting that from comparison since I can’t handle glutinous provisions). Chips and salsa pictured work out to about $1, so the bulk of the calculation is trying to figure out what I paid for that 2013 bottle of chardonnay years ago. At any rate, even if this was a $30 bottle of wine (which I most certainly would have picked up at a BevMo 2-for-1 sale), a heavy-pour glass still works out to $5 max. I’ve always been kind of a cheapskate, so chances are it was $10 or less per bottle, and we’re looking at a sub-$5 feast representing the corn, tomato and grape food groups.
