Spending log, day 10

Grocery day – with a new, more reasonable $100/week budget, even a moderate-sized Whole Foods trip was in bounds. Seems like the Amazon merger (? purchase? collaboration?) has brought many staples into “good deal” territory, including avocados and fancy (read: actually made form olives) olive oil. Interestingly enough (to my analytical brain, at least) my per-item cost averaged only 13 cents more at WF than the local Kroger outpost… admittedly a somewhat skewed comparison since some bulk goods are on the Kroger receipt.

Whole Foods total: $50.92 for 11 items (including pricey gluten-free hamburger buns from a local bakery, and two Beyond Meat vegan burger patties at $3 each)
Kroger total: $35.94 for 8 items (including dishwasher detergent packs and a “baby loaf” of cheddar)
Today’s grocery/household upkeep total: $86.86, leaving just over $13 for anything I realize I forgot during the week.
