Weekly summary, day 21

Week 3 marked the first consecutive zero-dollar days! To celebrate, I’m letting myself off the hook for daily posts, but still tracking receipts for weekly summaries. Weekly spending was not my best, since a $30 sundry supply restock yesterday tipped the scales just over double my goal at $203.91.

The actual grocery portion wasn’t too far off the mark at ~$130. The household side accounts for most of the overage, and we should be set for stuff like toilet paper and detergent for awhile – no excuses to for blown budgets in Week 4! Other sizeable breakouts were coffee and donations… in addition to splitting out coffee as its own line item, I might add incremental/running budgets for household and donations, so I’m setting aside during the year to spend larger amounts as the need arises.

Three weeks isn’t enough to demonstrate a trend, but even with the huge outlay for a new phone, my bank balance is still better off than is usually is this time in a pay cycle. Just how much was I spending before?! Maybe that’s an idea for a future feature – going back through old receipts and analyzing historical spending.
