Weekly summary, day 35
In the past week I have parted with $141.71, almost 42% more that I had intended… well, that’s not strictly true. I did purchase a shoe rack intentionally – the jumble of shoes jammed into a large brown paper bag in the coat closet just wasn’t working anymore. With spring weather so unpredictable, it’s really, REALLY nice to see all my shoe options without having to play archaeologist in an unlit closet. I also took the opportunity to pare down my shoe collection to the fun/functional/comfy pairs, which in turn allowed me to allocate less money and space to their new home. The sparkly high-tops even got to stay, so I don’t feel like I “lost” anything – despite halving my shoe stock in the span of a week.
Outside of the shoe storage splurge, I accidentally bought a book. Seriously. I’d stumbled into the free Kindle mystery section of Amazon, and that sneaky algorithm threw a very interesting-sounding $3.99 “gotcha” into the list. Didn’t even notice until I got the purchase confirmation via email. Lesson learned – hope it’s a good mystery at least!
Weekly grocery total still came in under the $100 mark, after adjusting off the above outliers and (3/4 of) the month’s worth of VitaminWater I scooped up on sale for 88 cents a piece.
