Weekly summary, day 42

Groceries totaled $106.41 this week, which looks like a “whoa, lowest total yet” – but it’s artificially low for a couple reasons. First, the Agent has been on staycation this week, so while I have still been making most meals at home, I’ve blown May’s restaurant budget in the past week alone. On top of that, I’ve scaled back my usual transparency on non-grocery spending because most of it relates to recent and upcoming birthdays 🙂 Still didn’t break the bank with restaurant or gift splurges, which likely would have happened this month if I hadn’t been paying such close attention to my spending. Think I’ll grab some numbers from Mint tomorrow to compare April and May discretionary spending, since I’m already seeing significant improvement in my net worth graph despite a sizeable (though not nerve-wracking) valuation drop in my biggest asset (home) in the past month.
